The music in this video is from Rain Dance, the opening track of Herbie Hancock’s Sextant, released by Columbia in 1973.

I’m hoping to brand Sygnol (AimsPoll’s API provider) with music from the whole album, using snips for lead ins, interludes, promos, and tone.

YouTube already permits me to mix and replay this music. But the Terms of Service allow YouTube to display paid ads over any posted video containing Sextant content.

A share of ad revenue collected by YouTube presumably presumably gets transferred to Herbie Hancock’s publishing agency, but I think a direct ad-hosting arrangement would significantly amplify the benefits to him and his audience.

For now, this (very early) Sygnol interface demo is live as well.
